ssl-vpn.download is a fan site about the SSL VPN client, the secure remote-access software that lets modern teams work from anywhere. We are not the original developers of the software and we have no affiliation with the vendor — we are simply a group of enthusiasts who deploy and document the SSL VPN client every day and want to share what we have learned along the way.
We are a small, independent team of network engineers, security consultants and technical writers spread across two continents. Between us we run everything from a quiet home lab with a single fanless mini PC to multi-site corporate networks where the SSL VPN client protects hundreds of remote workers behind hardened gateways. The software has been our default remote-access tool for years, and this site is our way of giving something back to the community that helped us learn it.
The project started the way most fan projects do. One of us kept answering the same questions in forums and chat channels — how to roll out two-factor authentication, when to choose per-app split tunneling over full tunneling, how to debug a stubborn certificate mismatch without rebuilding the profile from scratch. Instead of repeating ourselves, we decided to collect that knowledge in one place. Today the site carries a growing guide section, the story of the technology and honest, experience-based notes about running it in real environments.
Every article on this site is tested before it is published. When we describe a 2FA flow, a split-tunnel policy or a certificate pinning rule, we run it on our own equipment first — usually more than once, because networks are unforgiving. We revisit older pages regularly, since the SSL VPN client ecosystem develops quickly and details change between releases.
